Purpose of Programs
The development of the VACPC included a community consultation in late 2005. Input was gathered on what types of programs and services that the Centre should offer. Most people agreed that the Centre should not try to duplicate existing programs, but rather we should partner with other community organizations to offer programs and services that will help to ensure individuals who come to the Centre will have access to the programs and services that they need.

Having partnerships will not always mean that all programs will be offered out of the Centre as we have limited space and will have many things happening throughout the week. So partnerships may include a program taking direct referrals from the Centre, coming on-site for a few hours a week, or providing support over the phone.

Possible Programs
Partnerships will include other justice focused organizations as well as cultural, women, youth, Elder, and family programs. In large part our programming will depend on partnerships as well as volunteer skills.
Programs at the VACPC will include workshops on justice, culture, policing and other related issues, and helping community members to fill out police reports in person or online. All other programming will be based on the community consultation and meeting emerging needs.

Possible programs include, but will not be limited to:
• Speed watch
• Block watch
• Community & graffiti cleanups
• Foot patrols
• Marking personal property so that it may be identified if stolen
• Safety audits—checking homes, cars, and neighbourhoods to see if they are as safe and secure as they can be
